Community Affairs Group

The GTALUG Community Affairs Group was established by the GTALUG executive in 2010 to address the concern that the Linux community of the Greater Toronto Area did not have a unified community voice.  We meet monthly to discuss the changes in our community and political landscape as well as to discuss the concerns of our membership.

We operate…

  • Through education and support of our elected representatives and government officials, we involve ourselves in their decision making making processes.
  • In education and support of ours and neighbouring communities, we encourage an active and positive role in the local, provincial and federal politics.
  • Finally, through our presence in the community and our participation with government, we act as a conduit for information to flow from the government to our members, and back.

If you are interested in learning more about the group or our methods, please contact community-affairs@gtalug.org, or subscribe to our mailing list at http://lists.outreach.gtalug.org/listinfo.cgi/pog-outreach.gtalug.org .
